Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook fan page was hacked yesterday. Hacker posted that Facebook should become a “social business,” with a link to the Wikipedia page explaining the term social business.A social business, as per Wikipedia, is a business with “positive social objectives” where investors cannot take “profits out of the enterprise as dividends”. This message was posted on the Mark Zuckerberg’s fan page, fanned by 2.8 million Facebook users.
Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Price winner Muhammad Yunus described it? #hackercup2011
The “hackercup2011” hashtag refers to the Facebook’s own Hacker Cup, which is a programming competition. The message was taken down but not before 1.8K people “liked” the message and 438 people commented on it.
Maybe its now time for Facebook to take privacy of users and security of their platform seriously!
