Motorola Atrix 4G which is launching soon does not have 1080p video recording or playback, whereas LG Optimus 2X will have boast from the launch day.

But hey this does not mean that the mighty Nvidia Tegra 2 cannot encode or play 1080p content. There will be an update (hopefully soon) which will enable 1080p recording and playback via HDMI on Motorola Atrix 4G, as pointed on the official spec page of Motorola Atrix 4G. LG’s Optimus 2X, which is built around the same dual-core chip (Tegra 2) from NVIDIA, has been spending its time before launch showing off exactly what those 1080p encoding skills can deliver, both with video recording and through its HDMI connection. Meanwhile Motorola should also work upon to get Android Gingerbread 2.3 soon to the Atrix 4G which is going to be launched with Froyo!
